This week's drink is inspired by the bizarre, ongoing nightly rituals of our neighborhood Vampire. This citrus-y tequila sipper has a spicy dash of hot sauce and begins with a sangrita base, which you should make ahead.
Sangrita
3/4 cup orange juice
3 oz fresh lime juice
2 oz grenadine
1/2 oz hot sauce
For the drink:
3 oz sangrita
1 1/2 oz tequila
1/2 oz fresh lime juice
1 1/2 oz grapefruit soda
lime or blood orange to garnish
For the cocktail:
Make the sangrita ahead of time. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, sangrita, tequila and lime juice. Shake and strain into a double rocks glass of ice. Top with grapefruit soda and stir gently. Garnish with lime or blood orange.
We love, love, love all things Jo Malone. The fresh, unique fragrances can be worn alone, but they are actually designed for layering (mind blown!). The hand and body washes are luxurious as are the bath oils. The sumptuous candles make the perfect hostess gift!
Mia's favorite is the English Pear, & Freesia. This best-seller has top notes of King William Pear, Freesia and a base of Patchouli. Tiffany's favorites are Wood Sage & Sea Salt (with top notes of Ambrette Seeds, Sea Salt and a Sage base) and the Orange Blossom (Clementine Flower, White Lilac and Orriswood).
The Jo Malone website provides tips on how to layer your fragrances.
